9th Grade Study Guide for Thursday's Test

Your test will cover 'True Heroism', 'How Much Land Does a Man Need?', 'Dr. Heidegger's Experiment', 'Fire and Ice', 'A Father's Advice to His Son', and 'Haste Not, Rest Not.'

Study your class notes, the poems and stories, the comprehension questions, and the literary terms connected with each story.

The new literary terms we have learned so far are: allusion, connotation, denotation, and poetic diction. You should also review irony, symbol, poetic justice, and of course, THEME.

The test will have three sections: a literary terms section (SO MEMORIZE THE FULL DEFINITIONS), a comprehension question section, and a passage identification and analysis section.
