5. What major lessons did Christian and Hopeful learn from this experience? How did they use this experience to help others?
They learned to wait patiently for the Lord’s deliverance from trials and to face bravely the fears that would cause them to despair; most importantly, they learned that leaving the right path was perilous. To help others, they erected a sign, which was a testimony and a warning of the dangers that lay beyond the stile.
