A Summary of As Ye Sow, So Shall Ye Reap
Though Shan knows that his cousin Winn’s plan for revenge is wrong, he agrees to help his cousin sow seed grass in the Skinner’s strawberry patch. Winn wants to pay back the Skinner boys for beating him up, and Shan resents Jeff Skinner for keeping him away from his fifteen year old daughter, Martha. While walking to the patch that night, Shan learns that Winn has been stealing strawberries from the Skinners, and it is at that moment that he fully realizes how bad and untrustworthy his cousin is, and also how bad his act truly is. After sowing twenty four cans of seed, they are chased away by what they think is a mad, rabid dog. They run to Shan’s farm and call for help. Shan’s father realizes that the dog is the new one the Skinners got to chase whoever has been stealing the strawberries. Shan then sees Winn and himself hoeing the patch when the seeds they have sown begin to grow.
